Ellie is woken up by Dina some time later, the WLF people gone from the scene, the gruesome sight of Joel’s dead body unceremoniously left behind by the killers. Ellie witnesses all of this while still pinned down by multiple people she screams, struggles to get away, and hurls death threats before being struck in the head and losing consciousness. Abby swings the metal club and strikes Joel’s head with a final, lethal blow. She desperately asks Joel to get up and implores Abby to stop, to no avail. There, Ellie is immediately disarmed and immobilized by Abby’s friends, pinned to the ground, facing the gruesome sight of a bloodied, battered, Joel. Following the noises, Ellie goes down a stairwell and enters the room where Abby is torturing Joel. She hears Joel’s screams coming from somewhere in the lodge. Ellie finds a lodge and goes in through an open door. ![]() After finding out from Jesse that Joel and Tommy haven’t returned from their patrol, Jesse, Dina, and Ellie each go off on their own to search for them. The traumatic event that haunts Ellie and dominates her actions throughout the rest of the game happens a few hours into TLOU2. ![]()
